Neptune in Aries: 2025 - 2038
2025 is a start of a huge energy shift. Every year, I do a webinar on the upcoming celestial energies, which signs and degrees of the Zodiac they are energizing, and what it's likely to bring for the planet - and for your personal astrology.
For the past few years, I talked about 2020 being a watershed year. That we needed to understand the astrology of 2020 to put into context everything that followed. Well, 2025 is ANOTHER watershed year, but with a very different energy. Saturn, Uranus and Neptune all change signs! Because each planet takes a different amount of time to orbit the Earth, it's truly rare for so many outer planets to enter a new sign all in the same year.
Why Should We Care About the Outer Planets and What They Are Up To?
If we want to know what our day or week could look like, we look at the Moon, Mercury or Venus. But when an outer planet changes signs, it's a much longer and deeper shift. The impacts are felt across the planet, for years to come. And of course, they are also felt on a personal level. Look at the House the planet is moving through in your natal chart, and at the aspects it makes.
Just think - when Pluto moved into Aquarius in 2023-2024, it felt like a quantum leap. The explosion of AI! And that is just one outer planet. It also brought the beginning of deglobalization, that is starting to take shape now at a much faster pace. I wrote about it in my 2023 post "Pluto in Aquarius: a Fundamental Shift".
So just imagine the massive shift we're about to experience, with Neptune, Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter ALL move into a new sign in 2025. (Well, Jupiter changes signs every year, so it's not that big of a deal, but the rest of it is....!!!)
Let's start with Neptune. Neptune's move into Aries is another cosmic cycle that we'll experience for the first time in our personal lifetimes. It takes Neptune 165 years to circle the Zodiac. The last time it was in Aries was from 1861 to 1875!
In this post, I talk about the possible impacts on us as the collective. Stay tuned for my upcoming blog post "Working with Neptune", which is all about personal impacts of transiting Neptune connecting with your natal chart.
Three Key Things To Keep in Mind:
1 - Neptune is Water and Aries is Fire. So what happens when water meets fire? At first, there is a lot of steam! It can be a hot, sticky and uncomfortable environment, and it can be difficult to see things clearly.
But also, just like molten-hot lava flowing into the ocean forms new land, Neptune in Aries can lead to creation of something brand-new, that didn't exist before.
2 - Saturn will also be in Aries in 2025-2028, and that will moderate the energy of Neptune quite a bit. In fact, Saturn and Neptune will form a rare conjunction in 2025-2026. Saturn tries to bring order to whatever it touches. That, too, can be an uncomfortable process as it unfolds. But, there is a reward - durable, lasting results.
3 - The USA and Russia experienced a lot of change under previous Saturn-Neptune aspects and/or Neptune in Aries.
First, the Dates:
Neptune will be in Aries between:
-
March 30 - October 22 2025 (it will then retrograde into Pisces).
- Neptune will cover 0-2° Aries.
- January 26 2026 - May 21 2038 (it will then dip into Taurus)
- October 21 2038 - March 23 2039.
As Neptune Leaves Pisces....
In 2025, Neptune will be finishing its nearly 14-year stay in Pisces, the sign it rules. Neptune, the planet of mysticism, has been perfectly at home there. And so over the past 14 years, we've seen an increased interest in metaphysical pursuits, with Tarot and astrology enjoying a strong renewal. I can attest to that!
Think of every planetary energy as a spectrum, or a continuum. There is a high (positive) expression, and there is also a lower (more challenging) manifestation of the energy. And then there are many different shades in between.
Neptune is a highly idealistic sign, and Pisces magnifies that desire for compassion and universal love. It's a great thing, but eventually it can be taken to the extreme and become distorted.
Enter Saturn. For the past 2.5 years, Saturn and Neptune were both in Pisces, and they will continue to travel together until 2028 , when they both enter Aries. And Saturn tends to bring to reality whatever needs correction.
"To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength #WelcomeToCanada," the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau famously wrote in January 2017, smack in the middle of Neptune's journey through Pisces.
All good.... until Canada realized that its infrastructure, housing, and healthcare couldn't expand fast enough to accommodate a huge wave of immigration that followed. That coincided with Saturn moving into Pisces in 2023, saying to Neptune: "You're not always in touch with the pragmatic aspects of human existence. Let me rebalance things a bit".
Drugs were decriminalized in parts of Canada, in the hopes to de-stigmatize addiction and create safe supply - another Neptunian undertaking. Fast-forward a couple of years. Parents started complaining about playgrounds no longer feeling safe. Overdoses skyrocketed. The vision didn't pass the reality test - just as Saturn, you guessed it, was moving through Pisces.
Wokeism is another example that started as a worthy cause, but eventually people started wondering if we're throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
We became dissatisfied with the current governments and their policies, and many of us were hungry for a change. And with Neptune and Saturn both entering Aries in 2025, change is coming for sure. But, remember: every planetary energy has its own upsides (the high manifestation) and downside (the lower expression of the energy).
As the collective, we hold a lot of power, by consciously calling in and expressing the high manifestation of the planetary energy.
Neptune in Aries: 2025-2039
Neptune and Saturn enter Aries just 6 weeks apart: Neptune on March 30 2025, and Saturn on May 24 2025.
This post is about Neptune in Aries, but the energies of the two planets will be strongly enmeshed in 2025-2026, when they will be within orb of a conjunction. And that's important to keep in mind, because Saturn will moderate the Neptunian energies, much like it did when it joined Neptune in Pisces. Once Saturn leaves Aries in 2028 though, the Neptunian energy will flow freely.
Let's Talk About Neptune:
It represents:
- Art and artists; creativity
- “Glamour”
- Social causes and charities
- Illusions and deception
- Escapism (including drugs and alcohol)
- Pharmaceuticals
- Healers
- Sea and water
As far as "glamour", it can be movies, photography or high fashion. But it can also be us as the collective getting enchanted by a thought, movement, or an individual. The danger there is falling into the group-think and collectively walking off the cliff.
The lower manifestation of Neptune energies are escapism (including drugs and alcohol), and deception or misinformation.
Neptune in Aries in particular, can lead us to glamorizing raw power that verges on aggression. We (and the world) may become more individualistic, less caring about social causes and the unity of the planet. We will want our own slice of the pie, with no regard for those around us.
Now, Let's Talk About Aries:
Aries represents:
- New beginnings
- Leaders
- Agency (=what are YOU responsible for?)
- Conflict, wars and the military
- Entrepreneurs
- Courage
- Competitiveness
- Desire
- Conception and birth rates
- Fire
So here are some possibilities, some wonderful and exciting, and some not so much. Not all of them will play out, but over the years, I've seen at least a couple of possibilities coming to pass with every big planetary shift!
Conflict ☹️
Aries can be a militant sign. Throughout history, religious wars were fought when Neptune was in Aries. Pluto's previous visits of Aquarius brought revolutions and social unrest. And, Uranus in Gemini historically coincided with periods of war as well. In 2025 and beyond, the planets will be in these signs again.
The last time Neptune entered Aries coincided with the American Civil War. In keeping with Neptune's energy, it was largely driven by social causes: to end slavery. Neptune's ideals joined forces with the strength and bravery of Aries, the sign ruled by courageous Mars. And the outcome of that war was a very significant turning point in human history. Neptune in Aries can put up a strong fight for a cause. The war started when Neptune entered Aries, and ended when Neptune and Saturn formed an opposition.
Note that the last time Pluto was in the early degrees of Aquarius, as it is now, it brought the American Revolutionary War. The two energies are going to overlap, yet again.
I want to stress that the energy is of CONFLICT, which in the centuries past manifested as war. As far as astrology goes, history doesn't repeat (while planets transit the same signs on a cyclical basis, there are multiple astrological variables in play every time). But, it certainly rhymes.
Hopefully, Saturn's stay in Aries in 2025-2027 will temper the fiery nature of Aries.
Regardless, there is a high chance the USA will be undergoing big changes that may lead to a major redefinition of the country, its internal issues and policies.
New Discoveries
The Aries archetype is a pioneer, hacking through the jungle with a machete. Aries is enterprising and is not afraid to take initiative.
Neptune, however, can dissolve whatever it touches. Think water gradually turning rock to sand, or extinguishing fire. And, don't forget that Saturn will also be in Aries for the first 2.5 years of Neptune's journey.
At first, businesses and start-ups may experience challenges or become disincentivized through government policies. But eventually, as Saturn moves out of Aries, new discoveries and new ways of doing business can emerge.
Considering Neptune is involved, there may be some pioneering advances in healthcare and drugs in particular. Which might help with the next possibility, below...
Sex Drive and Male Fertility
Aries is associated with sexuality and drive, and the masculine. There could be a further drop of fertility rates and male fertility/infertility (Mars), driven by the causes that are poorly understood (Neptune), such as environmental factors.
Interestingly, I just recently saw an article that vasectomies in young men with no kids are trending up. Many surgeons used to refuse surgeries to younger patients, based on the conventional wisdom that the younger the patient is, the more likely they are to regret their choice down the road. But, this is no longer the case.
If this were to pass, on the plus side, with AI rapidly developing AI-enabled robots should be able to assist the declining and aging human population a few generations down the road... 😀
Along the same lines, it's not just about human fertility that can take a dip. There may be increased challenges with pollination and seeding.
But - a big silver lining - they can go through a boom cycle after, when Saturn leaves Aries in 2028.
Inflation
The years Neptune travels through Aries are historically associated with inflation. "How can it be?", I thought at first. "We just went through the post-pandemic inflation and endured years of high interest rates, and inflation is finally coming down!"
Enter the trade war, which, as Warren Buffet has warned us, is likely to end in increased inflation...grrrr... hopefully the worst of it won't materialize, as Saturn will be entering Aries as well, keeping things in check.
Neptune is Water, and Aries is Fire
Glaciers could start melting at a faster pace, sea levels could be rising, and there could be periods of flooding followed by draught.
Saturn-Neptune Conjunction
Let's loop back to that Saturn-Neptune conjunction I was mentioning earlier. It's a very special planetary alignment that starts in 2025 and comes into full power in February 2026. We will start feeling this energy around March 2025 and it will get progressively more amplified in the summer (and then retreat again until late 2025).
This is a relatively rare planetary event that comes together every 36 years, and it can be quite impactful.
Most years it happened, there was a big geopolitical shift, usually ideology-driven. The Russian Revolution in 1917 happened under this conjunction (Neptune and Saturn were 6 degrees apart, in Leo). That ushered in a socialist state, with the ultimate view of building a fully communist society, which turned out to be a utopia. And the Berlin Wall came down under a Saturn-Neptune conjunction as well, in 1989. And with that came the dissolution of the Soviet Union. These are just a couple of major world shifts that happened under Saturn-Neptune conjunctions, but it shows you how powerful this energy is.
The dates the energy will be at its peak are 3-4 weeks leading up to July 25 2025, and to Feb. 20 2026.
And - and this is quite stunning - this particular conjunction happens at 0 degrees Aries, also called the Aries Point. It's one of the most impactful degrees of the Zodiac, signifying new beginnings. Now, this is truly rare.
Charismatic Leaders
The Saturn-Neptune conjunction can lead to an arrival of a charismatic leader that has the power to enchant and galvanize the masses.
I'm an eternal optimist, so I hope with all my heart that this will lead to the betterment of humanity. But just to be on the safe side, if you work with vision boards, put "World Peace" on yours. It's freshly added to mine!
The Manifestor Conjunction
If the Saturn-Neptune conjunction connects with your natal chart, and you consciously work with its energy, you will have an amazing opportunity to bring your dreams (Neptune) into reality (Saturn). I will write about the personal impacts of the Neptune transit in Aries, and the Neptune-Saturn conjunction in a separate post.
Remember, Saturn and Neptune Will Be in Aries Together At First, but Then....
After Saturn leaves Aries, however, we can expect a brand-new paradigm in all things Aries. After all, Neptune is creative and can transform the areas it touches in its own way. Think new governments and leadership. A new era in entrepreneurship and start-ups. New discoveries related to healthcare. Advances in surgical procedures (Mars rules surgeons). So many positive possibilities!!
