The Astrology of February 2022
No, your eyes are not deceiving you, and it's not an error either! Yes, there are THAT many good days for love and romance this month - but also, for a renewed zest for life. It's the energy of passion, which can come into your life in different ways.
Ahhh yes….there is a big improvement heading our way, and it just gets better and better as the month progresses.
There is just the right blend of innovative Aquarius and “let’s-get-it-done” Capricorn energies in the mix for the first 2 weeks. And then, we're starting to get some amazing energies.
While Jupiter moved into Pisces on Dec. 28 2021, it wasn’t making any major aspects in January, so it was difficult to benefit from its healing energy just yet. But, this is about to change…Jupiter makes it’s first major aspect – a sextile to Uranus – in Feb. (which boosts luck and optimism). It’s just on the upswing from here.
Then, as the Sun enters Pisces on Feb. 18, the Universe is inviting us to relax and take a breather. We will have some magical energies heading our way in March, including a very auspicious New Moon on March 2. Truly, pure magic.
The key signature of February, however, is passion – romantic, but also bringing that spark back into your life if it’s been missing for a while. Wow wow wow! February brings some super hot, super exciting energies.
Retrograde Season is (Almost) Over!
All the planets will be direct as of Feb. 3! A big green light from the Universe for new beginnings. Maybe just take it slow the first week of Feb. since there still can be post-retrograde hiccups when Mercury turns direct on Feb. 3.
Venus (love and money) is now trekking forward in the skies. If you’ve experienced any issues or revelations in your relationship with your partner, finances, or your feelings of self-worth while Venus was retrograde between Dec. 19 – Jan. 29, you now have 4 weeks to take action. Integrate your insights, heal what needs to be healed, and have the conversations that need to be had, while Venus is retracing the same degrees of the Zodiac she went over while retrograde.
New Moon in Aquarius, Jan. 31/Feb. 1.
February comes in with a New Moon on Jan. 31 at 9:46 p.m. Pacific Time - which makes it Feb. 1 for most places. This New Moon also ushers in the Lunar New Year.
This New Moon in Aquarius is square Uranus and conjunct Saturn, highlighting the theme of "restrictions versus freedom". We are all too familiar with it by now, after 2 years of a global pandemic. But, good news! It’s the last lunation featuring the Saturn-Uranus for a while. The energies are about to improve very soon.
And, you feel “stuck” somewhere in your life, this is a great New Moon to ask for a solution that moves you forward, and that brings durable results. It’s also a good New Moon to set intentions for successful + original branding if you have a business. And for success with online dating, marketing on social media, and building your social network.
There is a reason I write so much about the New Moon. Working with its energy is one of the easiest and most effective astrological techniques to help you bring what you desire into your life. Part of the magic is YOU: in my workshops, I teach a structured approach to help you focus your own energy field toward your goals. But also – I can’t deny it – after working with the New Moon energies for many years, there is a sprinkle of magic to it. Unexpected solutions and helpful people come into your life. What was stuck, now starts moving forward. It usually takes a few months of consistent intention-setting on a New Moon to start seeing results. But sometimes, things happen much faster – they did for my client Irene, who bought a home of her dreams within just 2 months.
Anyhow, I digress – because I feel particularly passionate about the New Moon technique 😊
Read more about this New Moon and suggested intention-setting in my post here.
Love and Passion Love and Passion! – Including Zest for Life
Wow! Venus and Mars, the planet of passion, will stay close to each other for an unusually long time, between Feb. 14 and March 17. We will start feeling this red-hot energy just before Valentine’s Day 😉 Ooh la la!
Before I go into romance, one quick note. The energies we’re about to experience can help with feeling passionate about life again. Look at the House (=area of your life) the Venus-Mars conjunction falls into. That’s where you will have a great boost of renewed passion. Take full advantage of it. For many of us, life has become a bit blah, after almost 2 years of the pandemic (but thank goodness if your health has held out, right?)
Back to love and romance.
Feb. 13 – 28 are ALL good days for romance this month, with the energies peaking between Feb. 13 -19 (the highest point is Feb. 16 – the day of the Full Moon - when Venus and Mars conjunct in Capricorn). And in fact, they will continue well into March – until March 17!
And if you want to lock these passionate, vibrant energies for your future use over the next 3-4 months, Feb. 14-18 make a great timeframe to charge a carnelian or a red jasper. Or make your own personal essential oil blend for love and romance (patchouli, vanilla, rose or jasmine in some carrier oil would all make good choices).
And, remember how I said in my January forecast, wait until Jan. 30 if you’re planning to propose or get married? Well, there are some truly magical days for a wedding date between Jan. 30 and March 17, the best I’ve seen in quite some time. Marriages (and businesses) have their own unique “birth chart” – that’s where electional astrology comes in. You have the power to select the date that will help you achieve what you’re looking for in your marriage or your business. (I offer “Select the Best Date" consultations for weddings and other important events).
Venus and Mars will make two conjunctions: on Feb. 16 (in Capricorn) and March 5 (in Aquarius). These are great dates to set a wedding date if you’re looking for a passionate marriage. (Feb. 16 is a better date for the passion to last for quite some time).
Key dates:
Feb. 12-March 17: Extended Venus-Mars conjunction! (exact on Feb. 16 this month). Excellent for passion – whether it’s relationships, business or hobbies. Some lucky Capricorns, Taurus, Cancer and Virgos will feel this particularly strongly.
Feb. 24: Venus sextile Neptune. Schedule a romantic date with your partner. Bring flowers. Or soft flowing lacy dresses. Romance is the word. You get the picture.
Full Moon in Leo: Feb. 16 8:56 a.m. PST
My oh my does this Full Moon pack an amazing punch for love and romance! LOL yes...the theme of this month is passion, love and romance. The extended Mars-Venus conjunction peaks on this day.
Celebrate your unique gifts, especially in the relationship department. It doesn’t matter if you’re single or in a relationship. EVERY birth chart I’ve read has shown unique gifts the person brings to relationships; sometime it just might take a little longer before the planets align just right for that perfect someone to come into your life. (And if you’re hitched, consider a romantic dinner with your partner the night before this Full Moon. Or on the 14th if you celebrate Valentine’s Day. Tell them what you love and adore about them. Lavish adoration. Something brought you together in the first place – well now is the time to nourish that spark).
And then, following the Full Moon, release any blocks to romance, creativity, and any ego traps that might be holding you back in life.
Mercury: Communication, Legal Contracts, Vehicles, Electronics and E-Commerce
Mercury turns direct on Feb. 3. In practice, I find that most Mercury Retrograde related mishaps happen when Mercury slows down to a crawl and then stations – prepares to change direction – which is 3-4 days on each end of the retrograde period. If you experience some residual technology, transportation or communication glitches, stay patient for a few more days, until Feb. 6.
February is excellent for incorporating and acting on any insights you received while Mercury was retrograde. But other than that, Mercury makes just a few useful connections this month.
Key Dates (Pacific to Eastern Time):
Feb. 3: Mercury turns direct. “Information floodgates” might be open for the next 2-3 days. We can still feel residual impacts of the retrograde energies, so read all important documents carefully and double check your schedules between Feb. 3-7.
Feb. 11: Mercury conjunct Pluto (again) Your words can make a deep impact today: choose them wisely. Avoid power games. Feb. 9-11 are excellent for coaching or counselling sessions: deep breakthroughs are possible.
Feb. 14: Mercury re-enters Aquarius.
Feb. 23: Mercury sextile Chiron. A good day for journaling, or to have a healing conversation with someone.
Feb. 24: Mercury square Uranus. Innovative insights are possible, but our mental processes can be too erratic today. Not a good day for an important presentation, unless you’re pitching something innovative (and even then, make sure your presentation is well-structured and flows logically).
Career, Business and Money:
Good news on this front as well (even if not as spectacular as the romantic energies we’re about to experience in Feb.)
Mars is now moving through practical Capricorn, which tends to focus our ambitions toward useful outcomes. And, Jupiter is finally starting to make some planetary connections, bringing a burst of good luck.
Key dates (all for Pacific to Eastern Time):
Feb. 4: Mars sextile Jupiter. Your plans, and esp. your business or career can get a helpful boost between Feb. 3-5. Mercury stations direct on Feb. 3, so there may still be a chance of miscommunication on those dates. Read the fine print. Clarify contracts and commitments, just to make sure the both parties are on the same side.
Feb. 7-8: Mars trine Uranus. Two good days to push through with innovation, especially in your career or business.
Also Feb. 7-8: Waxing Moon in Taurus, decently positioned. In traditional astrology, this is considered a good time for long-term investments.
Feb. 16-19: Jupiter sextile Uranus. There could be a sprinkle of unexpected luck.
Feb. 22-23: Mars sextiles Neptune. Good for charitable or artistic pursuits.
Health and Healing (dates for Pacific to Eastern Time):
Feb. 3-4: A well-positioned waxing Moon in Pisces. Great for spiritual pursuits (or starting a spiritual business), charitable pursuits, and artists – and for deep emotional healing.
Feb. 4: Annual Sun/Saturn conjunction. If any trials or tribulations come up this week, rise to the occasion – especially if you’re an Aquarius or Leo. You have what it takes to deal with your current situation.
Feb. 11: Mercury conjunct Pluto (again) Your words can make a deep impact today: choose them wisely. Avoid power games. Feb. 9-11 are excellent for coaching or counselling sessions: deep breakthroughs are possible.
Feb. 22 8:53 a.m. to Feb. 23 1:24 a.m. PST: Waning Moon in Scorpio. Great for “ending things for good”, such as giving up smoking.
Cautions This Month (dates for Pacific to Eastern Time):
Just one! Feb. 1- 6 There may be some retrograde-related hiccups right before and after Mercury turns direct. Read all important communication in detail and give yourself plenty of time when travelling for important appointments.
But, that's it. February is shaping up to be a very good month overall.
